Visiting the San Juan Islands when I was young was the reason I wanted to move to Washington. Coming from a landlocked state, I looked at the ocean wide-eyed and knew it was a place I wanted to explore. Now I spend as much time as I can on the water and I love learning about the life that calls the Salish Sea home.
After working for Discovery Sea Kayaks for the 2021 season, I found that I could spend every day on the water. I have become an avid kayaker because it’s a great way to respectfully experience places and wildlife that you otherwise couldn’t see so intimately.
I’m excited to share my knowledge of the local natural and human history with anyone who is curious and joins me on the water. I also look forward to just having a fun day out meandering the ever-changing coastlines of the San Juans!
