Kayak Equipment on Overnight Kayak Tours

We will provide all the paddling equipment you will need. Each guest will get a 10L and 20L dry bag, waterproof jacket, and pants (No extra charge).

Kayaks & Paddling Gear

We use fiberglass tandem kayaks for all of our kayak tours. We select kayaks for comfort and efficiency. The kayak of choice is the Current Design Libra XT. The Libra XT is perfect for short kayak tours or longer expeditions. Our fleet has all Werner kayak paddles and Snap Dragon or Seal spray decks. We provide Seal Line dry bags for all kayaking tours, which are super durable. Life vests (personal floatation devices) are selected from Stohlquist and MTI Adventure Wear. We offer all guests waterproof jackets and pants from NRS. We love our gear and only choose to work with the best.

Transportation

We have a downtown brick-and-mortar location where all of our kayaking tours originate. Our location is just a short walk from the ferry landing, in the heart of downtown Friday Harbor. Once you arrive at the shop we will provide transportation to the launch locations and back to town after the kayak tour.

Tipping Your Guide

It is always a nice gesture to trip your guides if you have a good time. It is always appreciated. There is a lot of work guides do, not just in set up and clean up. But in their personal time educating themselves to provide you with the best possible experience. Guides take care of your safety and on overnight kayak tours they have added responsibilities such as cooking and cleaning. We are often asked how much to tip their guide. Anywhere from 20 to 25% is what is typical, anything above that is great.
